Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Career team at Mercer. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Mercer's Career business partners with clients to deliver impactful talent, reward, change and transformation business outcomes. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to have an impact and drive change and efficiencies across a business.

The business operational manager plays a pivotal role in the business by delivering effective operational management and change initiative across the business to support business growth ambitions and operational efficiencies.

The role is a key member of the business' leadership team in leading and supporting delivery of both tactical and strategic goals. The role will focus on all aspects of business operations - clients, people, process, risk, compliance and financial management to ensure we deliver good client and colleague outcomes and meet our goals. The role will continually work to drive operational effectiveness aligned to the wider business goals to support profitable and sustainable business growth.

We will count on you to:

  • Work with business leader and leadership team to deliver strategic and tactical priorities for the business, operationalises into action/delivery plans and ensures progress and accountability.
  • Lead and deliver on business operational and change initiatives across the business.
  • Be a member of the leadership team, helping to drive the overall performance of the business and operational excellence.
  • Work with the consulting community and other key stakeholders to embed business processes to improve client delivery, efficiency and profitability.
  • Support risk and compliance activities in the business to reduce and manage risk. Ensure that colleagues are following all MMC and Mercer Policy.
  • Support people initiatives across the business, working with the leadership team and Human Resources. Responsible for project managing the people plan to drive engagement, retention, learning and development of colleagues to support growth.
  • Support on financial management, working with the leadership team and finance. Lead on development of management information to support timely decision making and accountability.

What you need to have:

  • Experience in an operational role within a consulting environment.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate, negotiate and drive outcomes, working with a wide range of stakeholders, to ensure delivery of business goals.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to understand and interpret business data to drive business decisions and outcomes.
  • Experience of driving business change initiatives.
  • Excellent relationship and communication skills, to influence decisions and colleagues.
  • Commercial mindset.
  • Willingness to embrace challenges and deliver positive change. Regards ambiguity as opportunity for innovation.
  • Excellent personal presence and credibility, with the confidence to be an excellent ambassador for the business.
