Location: The Princess Grace Hospital Outpatients at 30 Devonshire Street

Hours: Full-time role working 37.5hrs per week (Monday-Friday )

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Competitive dependent on experience

We're looking for a Staff Nurse to join our Hip Unit team at The Princess Grace Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK.

The London Hip Unit has a worldwide reputation for excellence as one of the UK's only dedicated private facilities for the specialist treatment and care of adults with hip problems. We offer patients a unique service that combines surgical expertise with a full patient support team and a wide range of facilities at a single location.

The Staff Nurse will work alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the assessment and planning of specialist nursing advice and nursing procedures.

As a Staff Nurse, you will be involved in the journey of the patient from start to end, ensuring continuity of care.

Working alongside supportive colleagues, clinical educators, and Specialist Consultants, you will benefit from training on the most up-to-date pioneering equipment and treatments, helping you to become more of an expert in your field.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop pre-assessment skills with guidance of the CNS.
  • Develop knowledge of orthopaedic pathophysiology and pre-existing conditions.
  • Assist with follow-up appointments and wound care alongside the Consultants and CNS.
  • Alert the CNS when there are concerns and complex medical histories of surgical patients to ensure correct care and patient safety is maintained.
  • Clinical skills in taking and interpreting vital signs and tests with guidance of CNS, as well as delivering appropriate and safe care.
  • Deputise when the CNS is absent from clinic with guidance of the surgical team.
  • Follow up on care and surgical procedures to ensure patients are managing their rehab correctly.

What you'll bring:

  • NMC Registered Nurse Level 1.
  • Experience working in an Outpatient setting/ experience in specialty area.
  • Pre-assessment experience/skills.
  • Clinical sound and competent.
  • Phlebotomy trained.
  • Wound care management.
