Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Package Manager to help to lead the effective and safe delivery of hard FM services within a high-profile MoD building in Westminster. This role involves managing both in-house teams and specialist subcontractors, ensuring all engineering services meet statutory, mandatory, and contractual requirements.

What you'll do:

  1. Oversee the health and performance of critical building systems, including analysis of subcontractor reports and routine operational checks.
  2. Monitor site resilience and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  3. Manage planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring high standards from both internal staff and subcontractors.
  4. Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, and safety standards.
  5. Manage and deliver additional works and small-scale projects through both lifecycle and unplanned streams.
  6. Identify and implement process improvements to drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
  7. Apply strong knowledge of Health & Safety and environmental procedures, maintaining Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) as required.
  8. Act as the first responder for all contract-related incidents, including accidents, near misses, and technical failures.
  9. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders to ensure service excellence and contract satisfaction.

What you'll bring to the role:

  1. Minimum of City & Guilds Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
  2. Demonstrated experience within FM or building services, ideally in a critical environment.
  3. Strong understanding of BMS systems and critical infrastructure.
  4. IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH certification.
  5. Proven experience managing and leading a team of 2 or more direct reports.
  6. Authorised Person (AP) qualification(s) - JSP375 desirable.
  7. Experience managing client and subcontractor relationships.
  8. Project management experience on small works and lifecycle projects.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
