Job Description

In this Payroll Officer position based in Sheffield, main responsibilities will include;

• Accurate processing of monthly payroll ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
• Managing pension schemes and processing statutory payments.
• Assisting with end of year payroll processing.
• Regularly updating payroll records and databases.
• Addressing employee queries regarding payroll and related financial matters.
• Liaising with HR and other departments for integrated financial management.
• Preparing reports for senior management as required.
• Continuously improving payroll processes and systems for increased efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

We're looking for:

• Proven experience in payroll administration within the public sector.
• Strong knowledge of payroll software systems and MS Office proficiency.
• A keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to address payroll queries effectively.
