Description

Purpose of role: As one of our People and Business Development Partners (PBDP), you will work with teams, managers and key stakeholders to develop and implement people plans and strategies in line with our People Strategy. You will develop an excellent understanding of our organisation, strategy and customers, and the people challenges and opportunities. This role will play a key part in embedding our new People Strategy, with a focus on development and building management capability through effective coaching and delivery of Core Management Skills training to all tiers of management.

The PBDP will provide a comprehensive, first-class service to support the business in the UK and internationally to all levels of staff, using a coaching approach to guide leaders to get the best out of their teams and individuals and de-escalating issues through informal and formal mediation where required. You will work closely with SLT and Managers to identify L&D needs across directorates and work with the Head of People Operations and Development to design and implement effective interventions. You will be a trusted adviser to the SLT and will attend monthly/quarterly Management meetings to present the People Dashboards and cascade any key messages from the People and Talent team.


Key Tasks

People Management and Development:

  • Update and develop HR Policies and practices, providing advice and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Delivery and management of ER issues, including performance, grievance, misconduct issues.
  • Upskill managers through the delivery of Management Development training.
  • Acting as key confidante and advisor on any change management / restructuring.

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Support management through the process of developing business cases, acting as a sounding board and guiding them through the process.
  • Being on hand to advise managers on how best to assess skills, attitudes and competency at the interview stage for complex or senior roles.
  • Delivering HR elements of the induction process, ensuring Management Induction programme is in place for all new starters or promotions.
  • Tasks include - checking job descriptions; preparation of authorisation and tracking for Management Committee sign off; reporting for MI; second stage interviews where required.

Reward & Benefits:

  • Advise on pay and benefits issues, consulting as necessary with the Director of People and Talent.
  • Help to co-ordinate the annual award process, with the Head of People Operations and Development.
  • Role benchmarking, job evaluation, salary survey.
  • Advising managers on new role benchmarking and salary processes.
  • Benefits administration and benchmarking.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Provision of monthly and quarterly analysis of HR Metrics for review with Director, HR, according to required reporting and data requirements.
  • Provide improvement suggestion and insights from data to Director, HR.
  • Ensuring accurate HR data is input/maintained for the businesses.
  • Building, maintaining, delivering and developing quarterly HR metrics, including all data and reporting required for GLA and other external organisations (including gender and ethnicity pay gap).
  • Maintaining an accurate salary budget and forecast with Director, HR.
  • Working with HR Co-ordinator and Director, HR to manage Best Companies survey evaluation and analysis of results.

HR Systems:

  • Contribute to HR Processes and document production via HR and other systems.
  • Ensure HR systems support manager and employee self-service model.
  • Feedback ongoing issues to Head of People Operations and Development.

You'll have/bring

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Relevant previous HR and L&D experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of delivering management training.
  • Previous experience with SMEs or start-ups on an international level is desirable.
  • Familiarity with suppliers/service providers.
  • The ability to work and communicate with a diverse workforce across different time zones and geographies.
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to work autonomously as well as within a larger team.
  • Demonstrated excellence in systems, e.g. HR systems, SharePoint, budget tracking, surveys.
  • Excellent data handling skills to produce reports using HR system reporting and excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage and prioritise workload and attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise a busy workload effectively and deliver work to deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
