Job Description

At Tesco, people are at the heart of everything we do, and this couldn't be truer for our pharmacy team.

As a Pharmacy Manager, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on others' lives. Whether supporting pharmacists, providing top-notch services to customers, or fostering community spirit, your work will touch the lives of hundreds of people every day.

We want to help you be at your best, whatever life brings. That's why we'll offer you uninterrupted "me time" away from the pharmacy to relax, refuel, and recharge. Aside from these healthy breaks, you'll also have plenty of career development opportunities with leadership training plans from industry experts, so there's every chance to progress. If you have ideas for improvement, we'll ensure you're given the chance to be heard.

It all adds up to a role where you can do good, and feel good, while developing your career. Let's make every day a little better.

You will be responsible for:
  1. Supplying prescriptions, delivering NHS and Private services, and providing healthcare advice to customers.
  2. Playing an active role in our charity support programs, offering advice to people in the community at risk of or living with cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
  3. Leading, training, and developing colleagues.
  4. Using planning systems to ensure pharmacy staff are available to meet customer needs.
You will need:
  • A Pharmacy Degree.
  • A passion for leading and empowering a team.
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and willingness to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme-assistance will be provided.
  • Completion of a DBS check (organised by us) prior to employment.

Note: Pharmacists working for Tesco will need to complete a DBS check before starting employment.

What's in it for you:

Our pharmacies are led and supported exclusively by pharmacists; we are always looking for new ways to deliver the best service to our communities.

We offer a secure and flexible work environment, along with excellent benefits, including:

  • GPhC fee covered annually.
  • Holiday entitlement starting at 25 days plus a personal day and bank holidays.
  • Buy holiday salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Savings of up to £2000 annually on Tesco purchases.
  • Annual bonus of up to 20% of salary.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave (after 1 year's service) at full pay, plus 13 weeks statutory pay, and 4 weeks fully paid paternity leave.
  • Right to request flexible working from day one.
  • Exclusive pharmacy training programmes in partnership with Diabetes UK, Cancer Research UK, and British Heart Foundation.
  • Structured pharmacy leadership training plan.
  • Great colleague discounts.
  • Support with UK health and social care visa applications if needed.
  • Access to colleague networks supporting diverse backgrounds.
