Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Portfolio Management Officer in the IT department. As a Portfolio Management Officer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating various IT projects, ensuring their successful completion within scope, schedule, and budget.
You will have a pivotal role in the service request process and oversee the Resource Management System to schedule daily project activities effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues within the IT directorate to proactively identify inter-dependencies, risks, issues, milestones, delays, and generating necessary mitigation plans and reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables
- Develop and maintain portfolio plans, schedules, and budgets
- Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are achieved
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing potential risks and issues
- Provide leadership and support to project team members
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture
- Ensure adherence to project management best practices and methodologies
Skills & Experience:
- Experience of working in a Portfolio Management Office environment
- Experience of working in a IT environment
- Experience in relevant project / portfolio / programme management technologies
- Excellent organisational skills with good written and oral communications skills
- Experience and ability to priorities tasks and meet deadlines, be experienced at applying planning skills, tools and techniques.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple pieces of work.
- An awareness of project / programme management methodologies and governance
- Experience of developing good working relationships within a team, department and colleagues across the organisation
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
