On behalf of our client Goodman - a company that is evolving as a prominent player in both real estate and the dynamic energy landscape - we are looking for a motivated Portfolio Manager - Photovoltaic Assets who will be responsible for overseeing the installation, performance, maintenance, and overall management of their portfolio of photovoltaic assets.

Job description


Goodman owns, develops, and manages modern industrial real estate including logistics facilities, data centres and business parks in strategic locations worldwide. They have a team of around 1,000 people, located across 5 continents. In Continental Europe they are active in 7 countries, including offices in Amsterdam, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan, and Paris.


As a property owner, Goodman offers energy products and services to its clients and intends to develop and extend that offer. In addition to PPAs (power purchase agreements), Goodman actively invests in electrical infrastructure, as well as in power generation projects such as the installation of photovoltaic (PV) panels, batteries, e-chargers, heat pumps, etc. With 70MW of solar PV assets already installed, Goodman intends to expand its client base so that not only its direct clients benefit from these assets, but also other large energy consumers (B2B partners).


To that end, Goodman is looking for a Portfolio Manager - Photovoltaic Assets who will monitor the installation, performance, maintenance, and overall management of solar PV assets.


As a Portfolio Manager - Photovoltaic Assets, you will supervise operational performance, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements and managing relationships with stakeholders, and you will have the following key responsibilities:


Monitor asset performance:

  • Actively participate in the company's asset management and monitor the performance of solar PV assets, ensuring that they meet or exceed performance expectations
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret operational data and performance metrics to identify problems and areas for improvement; prepare dashboards for the same purpose
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize asset performance and maximize energy production and revenues, in collaboration with the Renewable Energy team


Coordinate maintenance and operations:

  • Coordinate and oversee routine maintenance and repair activities for solar PV assets, and interact with local energy managers on a regular basis
  • Work with O&M (Operations and Maintenance) providers to ensure timely and effective maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with DNOs (Distribution Network Operators) or metering companies whenever necessary


Monitor Financial Management:

  • Provide data for preparing a budget for solar PV assets
  • Monitor economic performance over the lifetime of the installation


Ensure Contract and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Follow and manage all contractual obligations and ensure their full compliance, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), leases, and service contracts
  • Identify opportunities for new contracts at sites with existing assets, and work on new contractual frameworks
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant regulatory and policy changes affecting solar PV assets; this also applies to international regulations and policies, to enable adaptation to the specificities of different national markets


Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation for all solar PV assets
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date



Your profile


  • A relevant technical degree
  • A strong background in asset management + technical expertise in solar PV systems is a must
  • Expertise in solar PV systems design and their operation
  • Knowledge about the energy market and solar PV economics is an asset
  • Knowledge of data analytics and contract management skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with energy providers and clients
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A good knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
