£34,500- £52,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.
London weighting £5,319 will be added on top of the base salary.

Location: The office base is in London, and this role requireson-site presence. Flexibility to work from home may be granted occasionally upon request. The work schedule will also include flexibility and different shifts.

THE ROLE

The Post-production and Record Operations Coordinator will work with the Post-production and Record Technical Manager to oversee Edit and Record Operations across BBC Studioworks portfolio - Television Centre, Fairbanks Studios, Elstree Film Studios and Kelvin Hall Glasgow. The role will have responsibility for developing both editing and record workflows and methodology and will establish and maintain operational and technical standards for all processes. The role involves working some unsociable hours both day and night including weekends and public bank holidays.

Key Accountabilities
  • Work with the Post-production and Record Technical Manager to ensure a robust record solution is available in all areas of the business.
  • Liaise with production and studio management to set-up tapeless recording workflows.
  • Set up and configure Avid Nexis workspaces and external raids for streaming media to.
  • Generate workflows and communicate these with the operators.
  • Media manage the recorded material liaising with the Post-production and Record Technical Manager and clients as required.
  • Avid ingest and playback operation as required.
  • Overseeing freelance operators.
  • Carry out recordings and EVS operation as operationally required.
  • Oversee post-production projects in conjunction with the Post-production and Record Technical Manager. Including but not limited to having commercial knowledge of Quoting and edit requirements to help the team quote for projects.
  • Setup of post-production Avid workflows from ingest through to delivery.
  • Provide holiday cover for the Post-production and Record Technical Manager.
  • Training will be provided to progress candidates knowledge.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Knowledge of EVS series of servers, IPD, XTA and associated hardware.
  • Knowledge of EVS Studio Playin role.
  • Knowledge of EVS Recording workflows specifically involving Avid Nexis with check-in to Media Central and external NAS.
  • Knowledge of post-production workflows from ingest, edit, grade, dub and delivery. Primarily, but not limited to, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve and Protools.
  • Experience of working on television productions particularly in a studio environment.
  • Commercial knowledge of quoting and edit requirements to assist with quotes for projects.
  • Knowledge of AS-11 deliverables to UK broadcasters.

  • General knowledge of the programme making process, and the requirements needed to deliver an end product.
  • Good communication skills and a customer focused approach with proven experience of operating effectively in a customer driven environment.
  • Self- motivated and able to work without direction.
  • Demonstrates an appreciation and understanding of BBC Studioworks culture values.
