Practice - Accounting Technician

Hours: Part Time or Full Time
Location: Eastbourne
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualification

Description
As an Accounting Technician, you will work as part of the Accounts team assisting on Client's accounting and tax compliance tasks. They are looking for a candidate that is AAT qualified (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

1. The role will involve all areas of practice work for a range of personal tax and business clients.
2. Preparing sole trader accounts, personal tax returns, company accounts and corporation tax returns.
3. VAT advice and compliance services.
4. Assisting clients with Xero bookkeeping queries.
5. Reviewing client and HMRC correspondence and drafting responses or communicating directly with the client.
6. Maintaining a high technical and professional standard. This would be facilitated through ongoing training and access to CPD programmes within the firm.
7. Communicate with the team on any issues or findings.
8. Maintain a professional working relationship with both clients and colleagues.
9. Undertake wider practice activities, as required.

Skills required

1. AAT qualified or equivalent.
2. Experience of accounts preparation in an accountancy practice.
3. Experience with Xero and other bookkeeping software.
4. Excellent attention to detail.
5. The ability to manage own workload and prioritise to meet deadlines.
6. Problem solver with investigative nature.
7. IT Literate able to use MS Excel and Word.
