Job Description:

As part of our strategic expansion in the UK market, DXC Technology is seeking a highly skilled and client-focused Pre-sales and Solutioning Principal Architect to drive the growth of our Aerospace & Defence Data & AI practice. As a Lead Data & AI Principal Architect you'll play a key role in driving technological advancements, developing a high-performing team, and leading successful projects in the Aerospace & Defence (A&D) sector. Your expertise will shape the future of data solutions, influencing strategy, and guiding clients through complex digital transformation journeys. You will have the opportunity to own technical solutions, promote DXC's Data & AI offerings, and provide strategic guidance on technology roadmaps and business plans. Additionally, you will represent DXC at industry conferences, reinforcing our market presence.

This is a remote role within the UK, with occasional travel to client sites or company events when required.

Due to the nature of our client accounts, SC security clearance is required and for us to obtain this for you, you must be a sole British National that has lived and worked in the UK consecutively for the past 5 years. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider dual nationals currently.

What you will be doing: Strategic Client Engagement and Leadership
  • Partner with senior sales leadership to drive strategic engagements, understanding client data management, compliance, and analytics challenges in the UK Aerospace & Defence sector.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for C-suite executives and senior military personnel, guiding them on data strategy, trends, and emerging solutions.
  • Deliver impactful demonstrations and presentations that showcase DXC's solutions and align with regulatory frameworks and operational goals.
Solution Design and Delivery Oversight
  • Architect end-to-end data solutions tailored for Aerospace & Defence clients, ensuring alignment with GDPR, Defence Standards (DStan), and the Data Strategy for Defence.
  • Develop detailed proposals, RFP responses, and Statements of Work (SOWs), emphasizing return on investment (ROI) and measurable value.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the feasibility, scalability, and compliance of proposed solutions, proactively addressing technical and business challenges.
  • Work alongside clients, partners, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver world-class, innovative solutions.
Market Leadership and Industry Expertise
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in A&D data trends, regulatory compliance, and advanced technological solutions.
  • Conduct market analysis, providing strategic insights that inform product offerings and competitive positioning.
  • Develop and promote thought leadership content (e.g., white papers, webinars, and case studies) to reinforce DXC's industry presence.
Team Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Mentor pre-sales associates and solution architects, fostering skill development and ensuring high-quality client deliverables.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and compliance teams to validate and refine solution designs.
  • Ensure seamless transitions from pre-sales to implementation, maintaining strong client satisfaction and long-term engagement.
Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
  • Drive operational efficiencies by standardizing proposal development, knowledge sharing, and solutioning processes.
  • Take an active role in DXC's Consulting and Engineering Services community guilds, contributing to innovation and best practices.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key defence institutions and contractors, leveraging insights to refine service offerings and identify growth opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
  • Proven track record in pre-sales, solutioning, or a related role, with a strong focus on Aerospace & Defence.
  • Proven engineering/manufacturing engineering experience in A&D solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large, complex client engagements and developing long-term relationships in the UK defence sector.
Must Have Skills & Competencies: Domain Expertise & Technical Leadership
  • Extensive knowledge of data architecture, governance, analytics, and integration within Aerospace & Defence.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and analytics tools, with familiarity in AI-driven defence solutions.
  • Knowledge of Defence Data Systems, Business Intelligence (BI) platforms, and ETL processes.
Sales & Solutioning Expertise
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders.
  • Expertise in creating compelling proposals, presentations, and technical documentation that highlight measurable business value and compliance adherence.
  • Ability to translate complex client challenges into innovative, practical solutions.
Industry Knowledge & Strategic Insight
  • Sound understanding of UK defence structures, including key frameworks and regulatory drivers.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in data analytics and artificial intelligence for defence applications.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills, with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring alignment across teams for successful solution delivery.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience working with UK defence organizations or related industries (e.g., OEMs, defence contractors, MoD, NATO).
  • Certifications in data privacy, security, or regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, MoD security frameworks).
  • Knowledge of AI-driven analytics and machine learning applications in the defence sector.
