Job Description

As a Manager of Field Engineering (Data & AI), you will lead a team of Pre-sales Solutions Architects focusing on complex, strategic accounts, helping to accelerate the expansion within our Professional Business Services customers. Your experience partnering with sales organizations will help to close revenue with opportunities while coaching new sales and pre-sales team members to work together. You will guide your team and be involved with opportunities to enhance your team's effectiveness. You must be an expert at communicating complex, business value-focused solutions, supporting complex sales cycles, and building relationships with key stakeholders in large corporations.

You will report to the Director, Field Engineering.

The impact you will have:

  • Manage hiring, onboarding, and building your Pre-Sales Solutions Architect team.
  • Rapidly scale the designated team without sacrificing quality.
  • Build a collaborative culture within a rapid-growth team that embodies and promotes Databricks' customer-obsessed, teamwork, and diverse culture.
  • Support an increase in ARR with an investment of Solutions Architect involvement in sales cycles.
  • Promote a solution and value-based selling field-engineering organization.
  • Display an understanding of business needs and revenue potential for accounts in the assigned region.
  • Build Databricks' brand in partnership with the Marketing and Sales team.

What we look for:

  • Experience in a pre-sales manager role in developing, managing, and building a team of successful Big Data, Cloud, or SaaS professionals.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Accounts.
  • Passionate about the data and AI market and Cloud software models, with the ability to deliver a strong POV on the value of Databricks solutions.
  • Experience scaling and mentoring field and technical teams.
  • Knowledgeable in and passionate about data-driven decisions, AI, and Cloud software solutions.
  • Great at instituting processes for technical field members to improve efficiency.
  • Market experience in the EMEA region.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
