Principal Civil Maritime Engineer

Our client is looking for a Principal Civil Maritime Engineer to join their team, where your expertise will help drive the transformation of the UK's critical maritime infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on iconic projects both in the UK and abroad, all while working alongside an inclusive and diverse team that is dedicated to making a difference.

As a Principal Civil Maritime Engineer, you'll be leading the technical design work across a range of maritime projects, ensuring adherence to relevant design codes and standards. Your leadership will be pivotal in guiding the team towards the successful delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the production of technical design work in line with industry standards and codes, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Prepare detailed briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals.
  • Manage project timeframes and budgets to meet key milestones and client objectives.
  • Collaborate with teams both in the UK and internationally to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Uphold quality assurance standards across all design work.

They are looking for someone with a strong background in civil and structural design within the maritime and port environment. You will have a solid understanding of port infrastructure and its vital role in global trade and transportation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer.
  • Proven experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary projects within port and maritime environments.
  • Knowledge of civil and structural design for port and maritime infrastructure, supporting port operations, berthing, and mooring.
  • Proficiency in UK and European design standards, including BS6349.
  • Experience using FEA software for designing and analyzing structural systems.
