Principal Commercial Manager

One of the best and biggest projects in the UK is looking for a Principal Commercial Manager to join the team on a fantastic nuclear/defence project.

• Job Title: Principal Commercial Manager
• Location: Reading (2-3 days a week)
• Contract Length: 15 Months
• Pay Rate: Up to £82 hour

Key Skills/Experiences:

• Proven experience in developing and executing sourcing strategies
• Extensive experience across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle
• Procurement specialist with strong expertise in category management
• Excellent supplier engagement skills
• Strong stakeholder management capabilities
• Experienced in collaborating with stakeholders to define clear requirements
• Proven track record in managing large-scale commercial contracts
• Versatile experience across various categories
• High level of commercial acumen
• Experience working within central government procurement
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Adaptable and flexible approach to work
• Proactive and hands-on, willing to roll up sleeves and get involved without waiting for direction or ideal conditions
• Confident with significant experience in senior-level roles
• Gravitas to lead initiatives and drive results
• In-depth understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of NEC Contracts (Options A, C, E) or equivalent contract frameworks
• Background in construction or construction-related procurement
• Experience with site decontamination services
• Exposure to waste services procurement
• Background in nuclear or defense sectors would be an advantage
