Job Description
Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Water 
Our well-established client is searching for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead and develop a growing Water Design Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering projects for AMP8 and beyond.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers across multiple locations.
- Oversee the mechanical design of water and wastewater projects, including wastewater treatment, clean water treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, and biosolids treatment.
- Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with client and industry standards.
- Develop preliminary and detailed design calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Work on balance of plant design and energy-saving initiatives.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA studies.
Key Requirements:
- Degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 7+ years' design experience in the Water Industry.
- Working toward or Chartered Engineer status with a recognized institution.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and industry standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Full clean driving license and own transport.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
