Job Description

Petrofac is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer - Contractor for 6 months based in Aberdeen, UK.

The role is outside IR35 and we invite Limited Companies to engage.

Scope of Services:

  1. Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector.
  2. Provide technical input to estimates for project work scopes.
  3. Provide input to progress and planning meetings.
  4. Provide technical expertise to the resolution of technical queries ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process.
  5. Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets.
  6. Produce structural calculations and analysis.
  7. Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews / HAZIDS.
  8. Provide checking and approval of discipline documents, complete interdisciplinary checking of documents where necessary.
  9. Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on technical project issues.
  10. Production of discipline documentation deliverables for inclusion in work packs.
  11. Provide a level of technical support that satisfies the appropriate Asset Safety Case and that the PFEER performance standards ensuring they are not compromised by any discipline engineering activities.
  12. Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards.
  13. Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate.
  14. Structural Design Calculations.
  15. Structural Design and Analysis Reports.
  16. Input to Project Execution plans.
  17. Input to project basis of design documents.
  18. Input to concept study / FEED reports.
  19. Presentations, sketches, etc. to assist in scope communications.

Design Deliverables to Check:

  1. Structural general arrangement drawings.
  2. Structural detail drawings.
  3. Installation methodology drawings / documents.
  4. Structural design and analysis reports.
  5. Project execution plans.
  6. Project basis of design documents.
  7. Construction work packs.
