Job Description

Pertemps Bristol Industrial are currently hiring for a Principal Systems Engineer for one of our clients based in Clevedon, BS21.

As a Systems Engineer, you will oversee and inspire a team of Systems Engineers and Verification & Test Engineers, responsible for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

You will manage projects from concept through to customer commissioning and field trials, ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with specifications. By implementing systems engineering best practices, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee systems engineering activities across a range of projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies aligned with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2023 and INCOSE standards.
  • Champion the adoption of best-practice systems engineering processes to enhance project delivery and performance.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and systems engineering teams effectively.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and support validation and verification plans.
  • Provide mentorship and expert guidance to engineers, fostering their growth and development.
  • Monitor team progress, ensuring milestones are met and projects are completed on schedule.
  • Cultivate a high-performing, collaborative team environment and develop future systems engineering talent.
Skills and Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering within regulated, compliance-driven industries.
  • Proven ability to lead, recruit, and develop systems engineering teams.
  • Experience with systems engineering tools (e.g., Sparx, Jama, IBM DOORS).
  • Strong project and budget management capabilities with a focus on delivering results.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and semiconductor manufacturing processes is beneficial.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Chartered Engineer status or progression towards it is highly desirable.
Additional Information:

  • Occasional travel, both nationally and internationally, may be required.
