The Opportunity

Working closely with industry-leading Partners, the Director will perform an advisory-focused, client-facing role. In addition to undertaking personal tax planning projects, they will oversee a team of experienced advisers, manage client relationships, and play a role in developing new business.

Focusing on advisory - demonstrating the ability to fact find with clients, to deliver reports and ensure recommendations are included as well as step plans for implementation.

  1. Identify tax-sensitive expenditure and wider tax issues.
  2. Support the Tax Partners closely to deliver tax advisory services.
  3. Manage the private client tax team by hearing the voice of your team members, conduct appraisals, and provide coaching of assignments to support the development of team skills.
  4. Establish strong working relationships with your own portfolio of clients through assignments and regular contact, including attending client meetings.
  5. Monitor your own utilisation, productivity, and WIP.
  6. Confidently provide guidance and feedback to others in the team.

What are we looking for?

  1. CTA equivalent qualified; STEP qualified would be an advantage to take on IHT and CGT advisory work.
  2. Experience of dealing with HNW individuals, IHT, and trusts and estates.
  3. Strong technical knowledge and the ability to carry out research into complex areas of tax legislation, particularly in respect of IHT and trusts.
  4. Ability to seek new business opportunities.
