Job Description

We are looking for a Product Development Manager who will establish an end-to-end NPD process and develop new and existing services to differentiate us and stay ahead of customer needs.

Main Duties
  • Develop framework of technology partners including but not limited to:
    • LED Lighting (existing)
    • Voltage Optimisation (existing)
    • Power Factor Correction
    • Onsite Solar: 0-1000kWp (existing)
    • Onsite Solar: kWp (partial)
    • Private Wire Renewable Generation
    • BMS
    • Water Conservation (existing)
    • Sustainable building fabric
    • Hydrogen
  • Develop project customer contracts.
  • Develop sub-supply contracts with partners including capital and ongoing revenues.
  • Source a funding partner for multi-technology energy services contracts.
  • Embed delivery capability and project management in the operations team.
  • Understand customer needs and emerging market trends and forthcoming legislation.
  • Drive new projects into existing customers working with the Strategic Account Managers.
  • Systematically develop new and existing services and justify development with a well-rounded cost / benefit estimate.
  • Bridge the commercial and operational teams to establish pricing model, sales material, proposal, contract, delivery process and KPIs.
  • Own customer and market needs analysis for Fusion, our proprietary customer portal. Intelligently prioritise requirements, feed into agile development process and manage outcomes.
  • Be a strong team player including functions across the business in the PD process and regularly informing.
  • Work closely with product specialists such as the Head of ESG and Renewable Energy Origination manager.
  • Support the business' competitive analysis process.
  • Conduct market research to establish gap analysis.
  • Establish terms and manage relationships with 3rd party technology companies to embed their solutions into our value proposition.
  • Establish and manage alternative funding options for technology and services such as share of performance, in-house funding, and external project funding.
  • Manage the pipeline of opportunities relating to technology partners.
  • Train the commercial team on new and existing product developments.
  • Present our capability externally in industry forums and the sales process.
  • Drive external Fusion uptake and interaction, measure and communicate results.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Will have B2B Product Management training, ideally CIM or equivalent.
  • Will have an appreciation of the UK energy / sustainability market.
  • PM in sustainability software business is a distinct advantage.
  • Will be able to demonstrate previous success in professionalising existing PD and delivering NPD with profitable outcomes.
  • Will enjoy working across teams and be an exceptional communicator.
