Description About the Role:

As a Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in driving VCC's product vision forward. You will take ownership of the product lifecycle identifying growth opportunities, delivering impactful solutions, and collaborating with stakeholders and the tech team. Your role will be essential in translating strategic business objectives into actionable user stories, managing the product backlog, and ensuring maximum value delivery.
You will be involved in a range of projects, from improving internal systems to enhancing customer-facing experiences. Your focus will be on delivering measurable results while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous innovation.


Getting Started
  • Familiarise yourself with VCC's current products, platforms, and overall business objectives.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to better understand their challenges and opportunities.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the customer journey and existing business workflows.

Establishing Your Impact
  • Prioritise and manage the product backlog to ensure high-value features are delivered.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise processes and drive initiatives to completion.

Driving Excellence
  • Identify and act on opportunities to innovate and enhance VCC's product offerings.
  • Become the subject matter expert for all product-related queries and guidance.
  • Champion agile methodologies to ensure efficient, on-time delivery of product solutions.
  • Prioritise initiatives that align with both business goals and customer needs.
  • Foster strong collaboration between stakeholders and tech teams to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Drive measurable improvements in product performance and user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the product lifecycle from inception to end of life.
  • Translate strategic business objectives into actionable user stories.
  • Manage and refine the product backlog to ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Own the vision and roadmap for specific product areas, maximising the value delivered.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to assess current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop solutions that align with a broader strategic roadmap.
  • Prioritise ideas and initiatives to ensure alignment with the wider product strategy.
  • Use performance tools and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Provide support to the helpdesk, assisting with incident triage and providing status updates.
  • Offer clear guidance to the tech team, addressing queries and supporting their work.
  • Chair scrum ceremonies and advocate for the customer's voice in decision-making

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Proven experience in managing and articulating a product backlog.
  • Strong skills in gathering requirements and crafting detailed user stories.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and concurrent workstreams effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a strong ability to engage stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
  • Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with product management platforms is advantageous.
