As Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading teams of up to 35 direct reports including Team Leaders, Quality Responders, and Team Members with an intense focus on Safety & Quality, managing resources and implementing strategies to meet production goals.
Job Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean product environment.
- Determine processing needs to assure fixtures, tooling, and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements.
- Daily tie-in with production management to designate workload, priorities, and sequence for work assigned.
- Determine overtime needs, priorities when resources are insufficient, and decide when disciplinary action is necessary.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Work to improve processes, timeliness, and reduce costs by eliminating non-value-added activities.
- Ensure the quality of product produced conforms to Caterpillar's Quality Policy while maintaining cost.
- Ensure necessary parts and materials are ordered and distributed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CQMS/ISO certification, etc.
- Be responsible for training and development of staff, timekeeping, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, and ensuring consistent application of organizational needs.

Skills and Experience:
- Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Thorough knowledge of Lean, CPS & 6 Sigma methodology.
- Strategic planning and supervisory experience.
- Performance management.
- Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.
- Willing to work outside of normal work hours including overtime and alternate shifts.
What you can demonstrate:
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Uses critical thinking to make decisions by gathering and organizing relevant information. Documents data and stakeholders, clarifies concerns, and evaluates risks, benefits, and alternatives.
- Problem Solving: Identifies and documents problems and solutions, understands stakeholder perspectives, and develops techniques to assess information accuracy. Analyzes risks and benefits and uses diagnostic tools to identify problems.

- Ability to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills & competencies.
- Prior skills developed working in a manufacturing environment, demonstrated skills in the areas of Quality & Logistics.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.

Job Title: Production Manager
Salary: £39,500-£47,500 depending on experience
