What we're looking for
The project and stakeholder engagement manager provides expertise in project management and stakeholder engagement to support the development and future operation of the Global Safety Evidence Centre (GSEC). The post holder will independently manage a portfolio of GSEC projects, coordinate associated governance processes and work to establish the evidence needs of all project stakeholders.
This post plays a significant role in the smooth running of the Centre's projects and programmes, developing and implementing plans and ensuring projects run to time, quality and budget.
Working across the Foundation's teams, the project and stakeholder engagement manager will build strong working relationships with internal colleagues, grant holders undertaking commissioned work, and other external stakeholders of GSEC projects. Ensuring effective communication among all project stakeholders is essential to the role, as well as developing and managing robust peer review systems and formalising stakeholder involvement in GSEC projects.

The role
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Managing and providing input on project governance processes including internal and external Project Boards and Advisory Groups
- Engaging with stakeholders to identify their needs and to maintain clear and consistent communication throughout projects
- Communicate progress and plans to project stakeholders in presentations and written summaries
- Build and manage relationships with stakeholders to influence action
- Responsible for the successful delivery of assigned projects as measured by scope, time-scale, budget and quality of delivery in accordance with the appropriate delivery framework
- Preparation of all project management documentation including but not limited to: project briefs, project reports, key deliverables against requirements, risk and issue registers, escalation reports, project board presentations, and project minutes and actions
- Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of projects
- Create and execute viable project plans with clear stages and gateways that will be subject to continuous review
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Proactively manage financial plans to support the project delivery, this will include regular financial reporting of spend against budget
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Monitor plans, manage risks and mitigations and escalate any project matters as required and through the appropriate channels
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement by conducting project closure and lessons learned reviews
- Project delivery across all areas of the Foundation's work as required
What you bring
- Proven experience as a project manager
- Experience and knowledge of project management techniques, processes, principles and methodologies
- Experience building relationships with stakeholders to influence action
- Proven track record of successful management of stakeholders and ability to negotiate and influence at all levels (internal and external)
- Experience in the safety or engineering sector, or working in an organisation focused on evidence-based practice (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building and networking skills with an ability to collaborate with teams, contractors and stakeholders at all levels
- Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise briefs, research reports and summaries
- Proactive, creative and self-starting nature
- Ability to work to deadlines and effectively prioritise
- Candidates must provide work authorization for the respective country.
