Our Opportunity
Hitachi Rail GTS UK is looking for a Project Controller to join us in London, where you will have the chance to work on projects across the rail industry. You will be responsible for supporting the Project Management Office Team by providing an effective Project Control service for your projects.
This role works within our hybrid working policy - with a minimum expectation of two days per week in an office, primarily based in London.
The Planner responsibilities include:
We will aim to hold in-person interviews, in London. We aim to hold a two-stage interview process, which will focus separately on technical and behavioural competencies. Reasonable adjustments are available with prior notice so please let the TA partner know if this would be necessary. To find out what reasonable adjustments are, and what might be available, your TA partner will be happy to discuss this with you. We may close this role early if we quickly identify suitably strong applicants.

- Be accountable for governance, deployment & reporting of Risk & Opportunity Management
- Be responsible for the independent assurance review and reporting process
- Lead on the assessment of risk and contingency in assurance reviews and activities
- Collect and monitor the use of 'lessons learned' as part of a continuous improvement culture
- Lead on the production of the monthly project reports
- Support the project contract review
- Provide guidance to Project Management Office team on the project comprising Planners and Project Support staff
- Ensure the correct and effective Project Governance is applied
- Ensure all Project activities undertaken comply with the relevant Hitachi processes
- Project planning and scheduling (P6 scheduling, schedule maturity assessment and Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis - QSRA)
- Primavera Core Model
- Customer relationship Management
- Estimating & budgeting
- Schedule & resource management
- Risk & opportunity management
- Change control
- Project governance
- Business Intelligence (Power BI)
- Bid governance
- Schedule Construct & Resource Profiling
- Risk Management Concepts & Techniques

- Understanding of NEC contracts
- Knowledge on EVM (Earned Value)

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

- Strong attention to detail
- A relevant certification for Planning & Controls is desirable (example is the Planning & Controls AMPG certification)
