Position Summary:

The Project Manager will partner with Operations senior leadership to drive both strategic and tactical enhancements to the operating model leveraging deep domain expertise across operational disciplines and asset classes, as well as strong data, technology, project management and business analysis skills. The successful candidate in this role will help lead various projects and initiatives by taking a highly collaborative and hands-on approach to understanding business needs, evaluating potential solutions, and driving forward results in a disciplined and pragmatic manner. This position requires deep domain experience, a strong voice, the ability to lead both formally and informally, a strategic mindset, and a willingness to roll-up their sleeves.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with Operations leadership to define and execute upon key enhancements to the firm's operating model, playing a lead role in managing various projects and initiatives.
  2. Lead end-to-end project management for a number of key workstreams, including feasibility studies, business case proposals, process re-engineering and future-state operating model implementation. This will include scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.
  3. Drive solutions via a combination of business process design, data, and technology enhancements; collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement robust and scalable processes.
  4. Partner with data and technology to prioritize core application enhancements, integrating department priorities and project needs to ensure appropriate sequencing and delivery.
  5. Mobilize teams and work closely with SMEs to understand requirements and challenges, drive business analysis, and integrate industry best practices to help progress CA's operational capabilities.
  6. Proactively manage project risks & dependencies, escalating risks and contributing to proposing and actioning mitigation strategies.
  7. Act as a liaison between business units, senior stakeholders, and external partners to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  8. Develop and maintain robust project portfolio tracking, governance materials, and dashboards to enable efficient and effective cross-functional coordination and delivery.
  9. Communicate project progress and updates through regular reporting and presentations.
  10. Partner with team leadership and SMEs to evolve procedures and controls in lockstep with business process changes and enhancements in order to maintain a strong control environment.

Qualifications:

  1. Substantial industry experience gained by working within operations including asset management, fund administration, etc.
  2. In depth knowledge of portfolio accounting, trade life-cycle management and custody operations with a focus on alternative asset classes such as hedge funds, private investments and FOFs.
  3. Excellent project management and business analysis skill coupled with a willingness/desire to dive deep to understand requirements and drive solutions in a hands-on manner.
  4. Experience leading complex programs and process with evidence of continuous improvement along the way.
  5. Deep experience working with data and technology teams in support of operational projects and systems enhancements.
  6. Superior communicator, highly collaborative, organized, able to interface directly with internal and external stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
  7. Execution-oriented with an affinity toward setting and achieving targets with a strong ability to influence.
  8. Sense of urgency, risk-awareness, and understanding of the 'why' behind managing high-stakes initiatives.
  9. Ability to write and assess strong, metrics-driven business cases and apply prioritization methods.
  10. Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment.
  11. Self-starter, able to work independently or as part of a team to drive exceptional business results.
  12. Advanced degree preferred.
  13. Certifications such as PMP or Prince 2 are a plus.
