Job Description

We are recruiting for a high energy Project Manager to join our Project Delivery Team overseeing the construction of subsidy free solar assets here in the UK. It's a permanent role that will report to our Head of Project Management. As Project Manager, the role holder will work closely with the broader WiseEnergy Technical Team and the subsidy-free client team responsible for managing the development and construction of the site from the early stages of development to handover and project closing. You will be part of the UK based team, so if you are based outside of London, you will need to be able to travel regularly to our offices in London.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working alongside NextEnergy Capital professionals, this will be an integral role in the Project Delivery team:

  • Project management, as per the PMI procedures, across all project phases: project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, closing down.
  • Preparation of detailed project management plans that will include as a minimum the following knowledge area: communications, cost, time, quality, risk, procurement and stakeholder management.
  • Ensure PV plants are being executed according to the plan, baselines and contractual / legal requirements with the minimum possible variances. More specifically:
    • Ensure PV installation works are completed by subcontractors according to the project requirements and specifications.
    • Ensure all components meet the specified quality and adhere to the project baselines.
    • Manage communications effectively and efficiently.
  • Coordination of project team, contractors, vendors and all related on-site and off-site activities.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in Solar PV plant construction (minimum 2 years), including experience in subsidy-free projects.
  • Engineering Degree or similar educational background is a must.
  • Project management related qualifications (PMP certification or Prince2) would be an advantage.
  • Excellent project management skills with a highly organised, systematic approach - but the ability to be flexible and adaptable as required.
  • Specific knowledge on Power System especially in Grid code would be an advantage.
  • Oversight of the construction process with responsibility for Health and Safety compliance.
  • Able to effectively apply WiseEnergy's methodology and enforce project standards.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Able to identify activities/procedures to minimize our project's risk.
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office package including MS Project. Knowledge of other software such as AutoCAD, PVCase or PVSyst would be an advantage.
