Pottermore Publishing is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace where all talent and potential is valued. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives, and recognise how this adds to our business.

WHAT OUR TEAM DO

The Account Management and Publishing Operations Team is responsible for managing Pottermore's relationships across our distribution network. Working closely with teams from across the business, we ensure our external partnerships are as high-functioning and collaborative as possible. Our main aim is to drive sales using a variety of commercial strategies based on the regular analysis of data, as well as to ensure Pottermore's products are correctly available and optimised on our partner platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

The primary focus of the job is the management of Pottermore's publishing catalogue; ensuring our titles are distributed to our partners on time with the correct pricing and associated metadata, monitoring the performance of their product pages going forward. You will also be responsible for our anti-piracy efforts; conducting regular meetings with our anti-piracy partners and producing quarterly status reports for the business.

Duties include:

  • Uploading eBook and audiobook content into our systems and distributing them to our partners, as well as reviewing and fixing any issues with our files.
  • Managing partner channels in our digital distribution system (CoreSource), including establishing and maintaining distribution and metadata rules, setting up new partners, withdrawing titles and troubleshooting issues.
  • Managing metadata in our title management system (Biblio), including setting up new records, managing ONIX feeds into CoreSource, day-to-day reporting, uploading new covers and making edits to records.
  • Periodic analysis and reporting on title discoverability, ranking etc. to inform best metadata practices and subsequently optimising our metadata to drive discoverability of our titles through our accounts base.
  • Ensuring product pricing in Biblio is up to date and reflects contractual agreements, including adding to new records, editing existing pricing and arranging price promotions, as directed by the Head of Account Management.
  • Business liaison with CoreSource and Virtusales (Biblio), reviewing system updates, raising queries and discussing development requirements, to ensure we're utilising the systems for maximum efficiency and impact.
  • Work with the wider team to plan the release schedules for new and/or exclusive editions of products.
  • Maintaining 'How to' documentation and ensuring the wider Accounts team are able to undertake basic tasks within CoreSource and Biblio to provide support for this activity across any absence.
  • Working with the Head of Account Management to execute our anti-piracy strategy, managing vendor relationships, validating infringing links, and reporting on progress to the Pottermore Leadership Team (PLT).
  • Supporting the wider Accounts and Finance teams on pricing review work, ensuring our products are priced for maximum market impact, updating approved pricing across platforms.
  • Oversight on the input of metadata into Pottermore's digital asset management system, as well as for recommending guidelines for consistency as the system evolves.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • 3-5 years' experience in a publishing operations role with knowledge of, or experience in, using eBook and audiobook distribution and bibliographic management systems. Knowledge of CoreSource and Biblio is an advantage.
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively within the scope of the business needs and to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A keen eye for detail, consistency, and high standards of quality.
  • Strong team-working skills with the ability to maintain good working relationships across internal and external teams.
  • Driven by results, commercially minded and with sound analytical ability.
  • An ability to work discretely and confidentially.
  • Confident, self-motivated, and inquisitive.
  • A fast learner and someone who thrives in fast paced, energised work environments.
  • Proficient in using MS Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint, plus a knowledge of, or experience in, using CRM systems.
