Witney

Salary Negotiable Depending on Experience

Our independent client is recruiting for a Purchasing Manager to join their growing team! They service the Aerospace, Maritime and Contract markets.

Purchasing Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Managing a team of 4 (Purchasing Admin, Office Junior, Stores Admin, Stores Operative)
  2. Responsible for managing purchasing requirements such as planning and scheduling
  3. Create a weekly production schedule + capacity requirements
  4. Responsible for recruiting, managing staff retention and handling training to achieve KPI's
  5. Mentoring the Purchase Admin to develop their skills
  6. Produce weekly reports on Purchasing and Production department efficiency
  7. Looking at department and process improvements for production and purchasing
  8. Review and approve orders, ensuring they go out on time
  9. Carry out prepack inspection and part review in production
  10. Oversee the planning purchasing work to identify shortages
  11. Supplier monitoring tracking trends and performance
  12. Work with the Quality Manager to propose process updates, creating/updating procedures
  13. Learning the audit process and help auditing areas as needed
The Ideal Purchasing Manager:
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing company
  • Understanding of AS9100 or ISO9001 and aerospace traceability
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation/planning skills
