JOB TITLE: Senior Quality Engineer

SALARY: £70,929-£78,810

LOCATION(S): Bristol Harbourside

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity

We're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialize in API and mobile app journey testing, with a strong emphasis on automation. This role involves ensuring the highest quality standards for our mobile applications and APIs through comprehensive testing strategies for the mobile security team.

What you'll need

  • Develop and Implement Testing Strategies: Design and execute effective testing plans for mobile applications and APIs, focusing on both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java or Python, experience with automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Rest Assured), and familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity).
  • API Testing: Strong experience with API testing tools (Postman, SOAPUI) and understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs.
  • Mobile App Testing: Conduct testing on iOS and Android platforms, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or Gitactions.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and any identified issues.

Any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Mobile Security Knowledge: Understanding of mobile security best practices, including secure coding, encryption, and threat modelling.
  • Tools and Techniques: Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling, and the ability to analyze and optimize API performance metrics.
  • Cloud Knowledge: Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
