Job Description

Secondment role in Finance.
Located in Leeds - Hybrid.

Reconciliation Analyst, Operational Finance
Working at our iconic office in Morley, Leeds, and virtually via Microsoft Teams

Your new role At NewDay

Reconciliation of key high-volume bank and internal control accounts daily, processing over 1 million transactions per day via an automated reconciliation tool (ReconNet).

Processing financial data and maintaining documentation to a high standard of accuracy on a timely basis.

Provide support to the operational areas for complex queries & issues.

  1. Performance of daily reconciliation activities, including the running of daily filters, interactive matching, and the escalation of aged items.
  2. Monthly ledger reconciliations, adjustments and transfers that are completed on time and accurately to minimize potential write-offs.
  3. Analysis and interpretation of financial data to identify discrepancies and highlight to key stakeholders such as Operations.
  4. Contributions to process improvement initiatives within the department to deliver defined business improvements.
  5. Documentation of processes and procedures that ensure reconciliations are completed according to our policies.
  6. Delivery of FCF within Operation Finance.
  7. Raising of issues & incidents, taking ownership for resolution & remediation of variances.

What you'll bring

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:

  1. Accounting environments, with a basic understanding of accounting principles.
  2. Relevant regulations and company policies.
  3. Understanding, analysing and presenting large volumes of numerical data.

And would love you to know or learn:

  1. How to build and maintain excellent working relationships with a wide group in the business, building a level of mutual trust and respect.
  2. To take accountability for actions and remain responsible for assigned GL reconciliations.
  3. Systems!
