It's an exciting time to join Totally's Urgent Care division. Our teams are ambitious and committed to delivering excellent services to those within our care.

We're currently recruiting Remote Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP) and Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) from a variety of professional backgrounds including nurses, pharmacists, and paramedics. If you're experienced, with a Masters level award or equivalent, we would welcome your application.

As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within our Remote Team, you'll be expected to assess all patients of all ages and provide the right management or referral. You'll have to be reliable and dependable, passionate and committed to delivering high-quality healthcare in a telephone assessment environment.

We operate CAS telephone-based services within our Contact Centres in Newcastle, Teeside & Staffordshire and a home-based team. You will be part of the multidisciplinary team which includes GPs, ACPs, UCPs, and Prescribing Pharmacists. Patients will be referred via NHS 111 and Ambulance services where you will be expected to use your clinical expertise to treat, advise, or refer them to the most appropriate service.

Your day to day

  • Demonstrating advanced clinical competence and a knowledge base beyond those associated with conventional clinical roles.
  • Undertaking consultations via telephone triage with patients of all ages (neonate to elderly) as an autonomous practitioner and using your clinical judgment to diagnose, treat, refer, and/or discharge patients.
  • Making direct referrals to other and alternative services within locally agreed pathways, guidance, and protocols.
  • Taking responsibility and being accountable for managing your own workload, risk assessment and management, acting within professional codes and appropriately to the clinical team leader for advice and support.
  • Prescribing, supplying, and arranging administration of medicines as indicated to address patient needs via electronic prescribing.

Qualifications, Experience & Training

  • Registered Nurse, Paramedic, or Pharmacist
  • Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (equivalent or higher)
  • Evidence of completion of study in minor illness and minor injuries
  • Independent prescriber
