Job Description
We have a current opportunity for a Repair Stress Engineer on a contract basis for a client we are working with that is based in Bristol. Please find details of the position below.
Details
- Role: Repair Stress Engineer
- Pay: £42-£46 per hour Inside IR35
- Location: Bristol with 60% on site required
- Clearance: BPSS
- Length: 6 Months
Responsibilities
- Perform static strength analysis for repairs using Airbus approved methods and tools
- Create, compile and co-ordinate static strength justification reports and associated engineering documentation
- Ensure all tasks and activities required for Repair Engineering are correctly planned, monitored and executed to achieve customer time scales
- Work in conjunction with the Repair Design and F&DT Engineers to develop optimum repairs
Skill Set
Essential
- Aerospace Engineering background with experience in airframe repairs development and justification
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to time, cost, and quality in a challenging environment
- Team-oriented with a focus on developing effective solutions to complex technical problems
- Aerospace Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience
- Experience of static analysis of aircraft structures using various hand and computer methods
- Understanding of fundamental methods of static stress analysis and ability to develop these methods
- Knowledge and experience of using Airbus static strength analysis tools and methods (including ISAMI and Mathcad)
- Experience of compiling static strength justification reports to Airbus standards
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Desirable
- Conversant with technical requirements for repair design
- Working knowledge of Airbus structures
- Some knowledge of the application of FE analysis
- Stress Engineering background, preferably in aircraft
- Delegated signature for structural analysis (or significant development towards)
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability
