Research Engineer - AI and Video Algorithms

About us: We are a Belgian engineering consulting firm that assists SMEs and large industrial organizations in bringing their innovation and R&D initiatives to life. For one of our clients active in the state-of-the-art compressor solutions sector, we are looking for a Research Engineer, specialized in AI and Video Algorithms.

Required Qualifications:

• Required: Python, C++, linux
• Required: SW generalist with 2+ years of hands-on experience & peer-recognized expertise in:
• Master in computer science engineering (or equivalent)
• application rapid prototyping leveraging existing SDKs/cloud APIs, applied research: PoC development
• AI: perception AI, genAI, leveraging open source AI models as well as cloud AI APIs, creating AI pipelines for streaming (video) inferencing and AI centric applications: pytorch, ollama, langchain
• Image & video processing algorithms understanding/tuning/development/acceleration and/or GPU acceleration, 3D
• Required (preferably 2+ years): hands-on experience with designing and implementing video applications or algorithmic pipelines for real-time behavior on PC platforms (discrete CPU & GPU) and SoCs such as NVidia Jetson

Preferred qualifications:

• 3D, XR, game engines (unreal, unity)
• Media server (modulo pi, disguise, ), creative content creation (processing.org, blender, adobe, ), projection mapping
• Broad background and experience in training AI from scratch
• Understanding or having used SotA AI: LMM, video gen AI, Agentic AI, neural rendering
• Application front-end and server/cloud back-end
