  • 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year - Permanent
  • Salary: £26,409 per annum - £28,624 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Actual Salary: £22,418 per annum - £24,298 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)

Join us as a Residential Activities and Child Care Officer (RACCO) to support the wellbeing, development, and care of children with moderate learning difficulties within our residential provision.

As a RACCO, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where students can thrive. You'll assist in the delivery of a supportive residential curriculum designed to promote self-respect, confidence, independence, and social integration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the care and wellbeing of residential students, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Implement academy policies and guidance, ensuring alignment with OFSTED inspection standards.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety and report any issues in line with the Academy's Health and Safety Policy.
  • Facilitate students' acquisition of life skills, such as personal hygiene, social behaviour, and independence.
  • Provide support during meals and other communal activities.
  • Plan, organise, and deliver engaging activities that enhance the residential experience and foster integration into the community.
  • Perform sleeping-in duties on a rota basis.
  • Contribute to annual reviews and relevant meetings regarding individual students' progress.
  • Prepare termly reports for designated key students.
