In our team you will:

  • Learn about risk assurance concepts and methodologies including planning, risk evaluation and controls testing.
  • Develop valuable insights and experience in business practices and consulting acumen.
  • Gain first-hand exposure to a variety of businesses within financial services (e.g. retail banking, global markets, asset management, insurance, etc.)
  • Gain direct experience in functional areas within financial organizations (e.g. sales, trading, risk management, operations, compliance, financial crime, etc.)
  • Work in a dynamic environment alongside colleagues and leaders that have deep industry and specialist knowledge that you will have the opportunity to learn from.

In this role you will:

  • Engage directly with client management and staff to conduct interviews, workshops, and meetings.
  • Review businesses, products and processes to assist in risk identification & evaluation.
  • Assess control processes and their effectiveness in mitigating/controlling relevant risks.
  • Perform sample-based testing of controls to evaluate their operating effectiveness.
  • Prepare well-articulated and thorough audit working papers (documentation of processes/risks/controls and details of audit testing performed).
  • May also assist in drafting audit reports intended for Board & Executive level audience.

We are looking for experience in the following skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Inquisitive and curious mindset.
  • Ability to think analytically and good attention to detail.
  • Be able to prioritize workloads in a pressured environment with multiple deliverables.
  • Bachelor's degree or above (preferably in maths, economics, accounting, or relevant sciences).
  • Preferably part or fully ACCA/ACA/CCAB/IIA qualified or equivalent experience (2 - 5 years).
  • Additional qualifications such as CISA are beneficial.

Set yourself apart:

  • Awareness of emerging assurance & internal audit technologies and innovation.
  • Some knowledge of products within one or more financial services sectors and an understanding of associated risks and controls (e.g. FX products in Global Markets, Investment products in Wealth Management, etc).
  • Effective at working in different teams for various periods of time.
  • Good at building working relationships with both colleagues and client personnel at all levels.
