Paddle UK is the Governing Body for Paddlesports. We have had many advances in our sport and paddling now covers a wide range of interests and passions as a sport and a leisure activity for all. We want to support and provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy and realise their potential within all aspects of paddling regardless of their age, background or ability.
The Role
Paddle UK is seeking a dynamic and experienced Safety Lead to champion and elevate safety standards across the organisation, and the wider paddling community. This is a unique opportunity to shape best practice, influence policy, and ultimately, ensure the safe enjoyment of paddlesports for all.
The Safety Lead will champion and elevate safety standards by:
- Leading and Advising: Providing guidance and direction on all safety-related matters, both internally within Paddle UK and externally to our affiliated communities, members, and the wider public.
- Cultivating a Safety Culture: Developing and implementing initiatives to promote a proactive and positive safety mindset throughout the paddlesport community.
- Collaborating and Engaging: Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal departments, external agencies, coaches, instructors, and volunteers, to build consensus and drive continuous improvement in safety practices.
- Developing Resources and Training: Creating and delivering high-quality safety resources, training programs, and guidance materials to empower paddlers and promote best practices.
- Monitoring and Evaluating: Analysing safety data, identifying trends, and developing approaches to mitigate risks and enhance safety outcomes.
- Staying Ahead of the Curve: Keeping abreast of evolving safety standards, regulations, and best practices, ensuring Paddle UK remains at the forefront of paddlesport safety.
