Job Description

Working hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday (9.30am - 5.30pm

Reports to: Practice Area Manager

The Team

The Team advises corporate, institutional and private clients with interests in commercial property on all aspects of transactional and non-transactional business. The Team has a wealth of experience in transactional and non-transactional commercial property business today. By reconciling different interests and objectives we enable our clients to achieve their strategic and business goals.

Scope

The main focus of the role will be on acting for private property companies, estates, entrepreneurs, funds and high net worth individuals on commercial property development matters. The fee-earner will report to a Partner and work within a section of the Commercial Property team.

Skills and Experience

  • Interest and enthusiasm in all aspects of Commercial Property
  • A track record of acting on significant development projects both residential and commercial
  • Efficient communication skills and the ability to communicate advice to the person receiving it
  • The ability to deal with many matters at any one time
  • The organisation skills to keep files in order and to move transactions to completion effectively
  • The ability to help develop new business and assist in networking events

Person Specification

  • An ability to deal calmly and with authority commensurate with experience and to work to tight deadlines is essential
  • An enthusiasm for teamwork, dealing with people, and an ability to assume responsibility and manage a varied and often demanding workload will also be a key requirement
  • A desire to become involved in marketing and business development initiatives across the firm and develop cross-firm relationships to deliver excellent service to clients
  • Efficient communication skills and the ability to communicate advice to the person receiving it
  • The ability to deal with many matters at any one time
  • The organisation skills to keep files in order and to move transactions to completion effectively
  • Applicants should combine high intellectual calibre with a pragmatic and commercial approach to the law
  • An enthusiasm for teamwork and an ability to assume responsibility and deal efficiently with a varied and often demanding workload are key requirements
  • The candidate will be expected to become an integral part of an established and highly regarded team

Education and Qualifications

  • The candidate will hold a minimum 2.1 degree and a training contract from a mid-sized or city firm.

Special aspects

The hours of work for this opportunity are 9:30am - 5:30pm but we would expect the successful candidate to be committed, flexible and prepared to work beyond the normal office hours if necessary and in response to client demand.
