Salary: £53,755 - £60,504 pa pro rata

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to support the development of nursing research within Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) which is part of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston (UHBW) NHS Foundation Trust. The post will be based within the Faculty of Children's Nurse Education (FCNE), which has recently expanded their remit to the Faculty of Children's Nurse Education and Research. The post holder will work closely with the Lead Clinical Academic Nurse Researcher on research capacity and capability building within BRHC.

Main duties of the job
  • Encourage and facilitate Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional (NMAHP) research knowledge, skills and potential within BRHC to empower staff to lead, use, deliver and participate in research.
  • Support the implementation of the UHBW research and NMAHP specific strategy to enable research opportunities for the workforce.
  • Support the generation and implementation of evidence into practice to benefit patients, carers and our workforce.
  • Develop and build relationships and initiatives with partner HEIs to support the growth in the number and diversity of nurse leaders in research.
Person specification Qualifications & Training
  • NMC Registered nurse - ideally Child Branch
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or closely health related degree
  • Master's Degree or experience
  • Post graduate knowledge of research techniques, analysis and use of information
  • Additional related paediatric critical care specialist qualification
  • Good Clinical Practice Research training
  • Post graduate teaching / assessing qualification
Knowledge & Experience
  • Recent experience at a senior level including, change management, & multidisciplinary working
  • Experience of leading & managing large improvement and academic research projects/study
  • Evidence of having delivered a research portfolio
  • Experience of leading research projects in a complex organisation
  • Experience and understanding of key nursing and MDT objectives and how research and education links to the Nursing / MDT strategy
  • Extensive experience of teaching, developing and facilitating research and innovation programmes to the inter-professional team across health and social care settings
  • Evidence of current clinical practice in a range of acute care settings
  • Evidence of conference presenting
  • Evidence of leading projects across health & social care settings /clinical practice, teaching and research
  • Evidence of competitive grant capture/income generation
  • Experience of developing complex training and education programmes
