We're looking for a talented Senior Analyst to join our high-performing credit strategy analytics team at Zopa, where you will have the opportunity to drive significant improvements in customer and credit outcomes across Collections and Recoveries.

By leveraging hypothesis testing, portfolio trends, and industry advancements, you'll better engage, inform, and support customers facing financial difficulties.

Collaboration is key at Zopa. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, product, engineering, and data science to develop and drive engagement strategies, influence strategic decisions, and identify opportunities to enhance customer outcomes through cutting-edge analytical techniques.

A day in the life
  • As a Senior Analyst in Credit Strategy, you will be entrusted to lead on our most complex and highest impact projects.
  • You will be empowered to think outside the box and devise creative, innovative solutions to problems.
  • You will gather industry information to stay updated on latest trends and opportunities within the collections space.
  • You will have the opportunity to drive large scale strategic changes, transforming the impact we have on customers.
  • You will work in a team that covers a broad remit across credit and customer outcomes, considering engagement, information, solutions, regulations and customer experience.
  • You will work in a wider cross-functional product, credit, and data science team, interacting closely with operations, so you will have the opportunity to work alongside, learn from and mentor some of the brightest minds and friendliest people in the industry!
  • You will work with large datasets and some of the best tech in the industry, such as powerful Python instances for data analysis and Redshift for data warehousing.
  • You will have the opportunity to mentor junior team members, fostering their growth and development within the team.
Projects our Senior Analysts currently manage include:
  • Optimising collections strategy across our lending products, testing, iterating on and deploying advancements such as: new engagement strategies, customer capabilities, affordability assessments, forbearance solutions, and recoveries strategies. All while considering customer and credit outcomes, risks and regulations.
  • Shaping and enhancing our customer journeys and working with the product and tech teams to deliver these changes.
  • Using advanced statistical techniques to predict customer behaviour or forecast future collections engagement.
  • Working with open banking data or other novel datasets to find new ways of enhancing our engagement and customer information and education strategy.
  • Analysing the performance of our portfolio, identifying any areas of improvement, and recommending strategy changes based on these findings.
  • Building valuations models to inform strategic decisions while understanding their inherent limitations.
About you
  • You have strong experience analysing data to drive collections strategy within a consumer lending or debt collection firm.
  • You have a strong ability in manipulating and analysing large datasets using SQL and/or Python.
  • You are experienced in visualization and storytelling through data.
  • You have a passion for translating numbers into business opportunities and delivering insights to drive decision-making.
  • You are a structured and holistic problem-solver, and possess strong time management skills.
  • You have a passion for helping customers receive a seamless experience and good customer outcomes.
  • You have an insatiable curiosity and a relentless drive to learn, improve, and share knowledge with others.
  • You are able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including operations, tech, compliance and product.

We're on the move!

Towards the end of 2025 Zopa will be relocating to a brand-new headquarters at 20 Water Street in Canary Wharf. The 44,000 square foot workspace will foster collaboration and inspire creativity for our 900 employees amidst our 2025 growth blitz.

We value face-to-face collaboration and a good work-life balance. This hybrid role requires you to come to our London office 2-3 days a week.

You'll also have the option of working from abroad for up to 120 days a year! But no matter where you are, we'll make sure you've got everything you need to thrive, both in your work and home life, from day one.
