Job Overview
The Senior Finance Business Partner role plays a critical role in driving strategic initiatives and operational efficiency. As the Finance lead and partner to several of the executive team members and their functions, this role is key to providing insights, analysis and leadership to optimise capital allocation and cost efficiency to maximise future enterprise value.
This role involves collaborating with business leaders to understand and align strategies with overall business goals and financial objectives, conducting in-depth financial analysis to support decision-marking, completing key financial planning processes, ensuring suitable cost control measures are in place, and supporting the integration of M&A targets.

Job Overview
The Senior Finance Business Partner role plays a critical role in driving strategic initiatives and operational efficiency. As the Finance lead and partner to several of the executive team members and their functions, this role is key to providing insights, analysis and leadership to optimise capital allocation and cost efficiency to maximise future enterprise value.
This role involves collaborating with business leaders to understand and align strategies with overall business goals and financial objectives, conducting in-depth financial analysis to support decision-marking, completing key financial planning processes, ensuring suitable cost control measures are in place, and supporting the integration of M&A targets.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Deliver financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning and risks and opportunities assessments
- Implement approved financial strategies into all relevant planning models and ensure inclusion within board reports where appropriate
- Prepare results analysis on P&L and KPI performance and the levers impacting performance, highlighting key explanations for variances with clear future performance impacts and actions for continual improvement.
- Report and present results to Leadership, banks and investors where appropriate
- Ensure clarity over cash timing by tracking key contract and invoice terms and renewals and capital expenditure
- Provide or support data requirements to fulfil banking covenants or support refinancing
- Develop and implement commercial and strategic strategies that optimise capital allocation and support overall company goals. This includes understanding the variable and fixed elements of the cost base and how they grow with the business, key project dependencies and support needed to drive strategic initiatives measured and tracked by Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
- Collaborate with senior management to align financial and commercial objectives
- Drive financial and data hygiene, ensuring reconciliation across systems, including payroll and suppliers
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, revenue streams and M&A
- Prepare and produce data-driven analytics with key insights and suggested actions.
- Drive optimisation of a cost effective system landscape that provides actionable and clear data insights.
- Support the mentoring, guiding and coaching of BI analysts to support with these activities

- Ensuring cost spend is in line with budget or adjusted as necessary to match business circumstances. This includes ensuring clear tracking of contract and commercial metrics and terms to ensure timely management of suppliers.
- Continuous improvement in cost efficiency through effective resource allocation with focus on optimal short and long-term growth objectives, including consideration for new opportunities and initiatives.
- Deliver comprehensive forecasts, budgets, risks and opportunities schedules that have been collaboratively agreed across all relevant and key individuals and ensuring alignment to overall objectives
- Ensure data and reporting integrity with a control framework that ensures one version of the truth tied across systems and platforms, with checks to minimise the risk of error. Provide comprehensive documentation for data descriptions, assumptions, clarity of sources, last updates, next steps and clarity over who is Responsible, Accountable, Consulted and Informed (RACI matrix)
- Support delivery of commercial objectives including new logo, upsells (increased users/ volume, price increases, upgrades - functionality, increased territories), cross-sells (new product family), churn (client exits), down-sells (decreased users/ volume, price decreases, downgrades - functionality, reduced territories), cross-down sell (churn of product family)
- Support continuous improvement in commercial efficiency through effective resource allocation with focus on optimal short and long-term growth objectives, including consideration for new opportunities and initiatives
- Professional/ Accountancy qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CA, CIMA, or similar)
- Degree ideally in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel and experience using and building sophisticated financial models.
- Advanced experience in using data visualisation/reporting tools, ideally with Power BI
- Experience with utilising Finance and FP&A tools that optimise efficiency and effectiveness of core finance processes, business reporting and insights
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with a proven track record of demonstrating the gravitas to drive margin enhancing improvements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt approach to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Resilience to overcome obstacles with an agile approach to delivery focused on continual improvement from a minimal viable product start point
- A collaborative team approach that focuses on maximising team development, coverage of roles and responsibilities and optimal team outcomes. This includes clear documentation for all documents and files, cross-training 1-2-1s, video training (beneficial), shared delivery of team goals and tasks, and clear handover during holidays, though minimising the need as much as possible with forward planning
- Demonstrate a natural desire and ability to develop and mentor individuals and teams and provide guidance and support across the business to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
