Your tasks and responsibilities will encompass the following, among others:- Lead complex forensic investigations into structural failures, identifying causes and proposing remedial actions for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Prepare comprehensive forensic reports, documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
- Serve as an expert witness, presenting evidence and technical findings in legal proceedings and disputes.
- Develop and implement innovative methodologies and tools for forensic analysis, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of investigations.
- Conduct site inspections and structural assessments, utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques to identify underlying issues.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and industry professionals, providing expert advice and consultation on forensic structural engineering matters.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the forensic engineering team.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, research, and developments in forensic structural engineering, applying this knowledge to improve service quality and outcomes.
- Ensure all forensic investigations and reports comply with relevant standards, codes, and ethical guidelines, maintaining the highest level of professional integrity.
- Advanced degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in forensic structural engineering, including conducting failure analyses and serving as an expert witness.
- Proficient in the use of forensic investigation tools and software.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex engineering concepts to non-experts.
- Proven track record of publishing research or presenting findings at industry conferences.
