Job Introduction

Working within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function within BBC Finance, the Senior FP&A Analyst will work closely with the FP&A Manager to deliver a high-quality FP&A function to the business.

The FP&A Senior Analyst will take a prominent role in collaboration with the wider Finance community which includes senior stakeholders, the Finance Operations teams and our outsource provider to support the delivery of the Divisional Finance support model.

They will be actively involved in the preparation and aggregation of Divisional budgets, forecasts, and Management Information reports for a PSB Group.

They will balance this with excellent business partnering skills, providing meaningful insight to support business decision making.

The Senior FP&A Analyst will play a prominent role in the delivery of continuous improvement activities and in enhancing the quality of Management Information for their area.

Main Responsibilities
  • Working closely with Divisional budget holders to support business performance, drive insightful decision making and taking a pro-active approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly and concisely to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Supporting the FP&A Manager in the preparation and aggregation of PSB Group and Divisional budgets/forecasts and other ad hoc PSB Group activities.
  • Deliver robust end-to-end Divisional budgeting and forecasting in accordance with corporate requirements.
  • Take a lead role on the production and delivery of central Finance reporting requirements in line with deadlines.
  • Support the FP&A Manager with high-impact and strategic continuous improvements initiatives across their areas.
  • Elevate management information by working collaboratively with FP&A Data team, and the wider FP&A function, to deliver for business requirements.
  • Managing FP&A Analysts and supporting team development.
  • Working closely with the Finance Operations teams to ensure reported Divisional financial results are accurate.
Are you the right candidate?
  • Have a professional accounting accreditation e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Significant experience of delivering a high-quality FP&A service.
  • Able to work collaboratively with the wider FP&A and Finance Partnering teams to identify process improvements, drive standardisation and automation opportunities.
  • Demonstrate robust FP&A technical knowledge with excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyse large and complex datasets to draw out the relevant messages.
  • Have highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and their decision making.
  • Excellent IT skills are essential as is the willingness to embrace and learn new tools and technologies including AI.
  • Flexible and adaptive to changes in business and corporate requirements.
  • Experience of managing or developing a team.
