Job Description

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Instrument Designer - Contractor for 12 months, based in Aberdeen, UK.

The role is outside IR35, and we invite Limited Companies to engage.

Scope of Services:

Services to be supported during the duration of the contract are detailed below. A requirement to undertake additional services shall be mutually agreed by way of contract amendment:

  1. Provide design input to estimates for project work scopes
  2. Provide technical design expertise to specify modifications to existing equipment or purchasing new equipment including:
    1. DCS, ESD F&G and Metering system modifications
    2. Field Instrumentation including Pressure, Level, Temperature, Flow and Specialist Measurements.
    3. Valves
    4. SIL, High Integrity Systems (HIPPS)
    5. Measurement and Metering
    6. Industrial Networking and Communications
  3. Provide technical design expertise to the resolution of technical queries ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process
  4. Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets
  5. Produce calculations required for the role and participate in design reviews.
  6. Production of discipline documentation deliverables for inclusion in work packs.
  7. Provide a level of technical support that satisfies the appropriate Asset Safety Case and that the PFEER performance standards ensuring they are not compromised by any discipline engineering activities
  8. Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards.
  9. Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate.

Services should be provided to enable production of the following deliverables where required as part of project specific works, specific clients and durations will be called off as part of the purchase order:

  1. Block Diagrams or Single line diagrams
  2. Cause & Effect Diagrams
  3. Cable Tray Routing & Layout Diagrams
  4. Panel; Control Room; F&G and Equipment Room Layouts
  5. Destruct Drawing
  6. Logic & Loop Diagrams
  7. Schematic Diagrams
  8. Pneumatic; Chemical and Hydraulic Hook-up Diagram
  9. Pneumatic; Chemical and Hydraulic Hook-up Schematic
  10. Installation or storyboard diagrams to facilitate understanding
  11. Requisition - Bulk Bill of Materials
