THE ROLE

Damen Naval is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer Marine Systems (Interim) to join our Schiedam team. In this role, you will lead the seamless integration of complex marine systems into cutting-edge naval vessels, ensuring excellence in performance, quality, and compliance throughout every phase of development. Working closely with internal teams, external suppliers, and subcontractors, you will help us meet and exceed the highest standards expected in naval shipbuilding.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
As Senior Integration Engineer Marine Systems (Interim) your key responsibilities will include:

  • Define and select marine system configurations and components during the proposal phase.
  • Develop (functional) technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors, aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform technical evaluations of supplier quotations alongside the purchasing department.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with all technical and project requirements within agreed schedules, quality standards, and budgets.
  • Review supplier documentation, including schematics, drawings, and calculations.
  • Promote multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal project solutions.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to integrate delivered systems into ship designs.
  • Prepare key technical documents such as system descriptions, installation procedures, and acceptance test protocols.
  • Verify technical performance through dynamic simulations, equipment inspections, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
  • Provide occasional technical support during on-site installations, Harbour Acceptance Tests (HATs), and Sea Acceptance Tests (SATs).
  • Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Participate in design reviews to uphold quality standards.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To excel as Senior Integration Engineer Marine Systems (Interim), you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field combined with solid experience with marine systems in naval shipbuilding, offshore, or commercial shipbuilding.
  • Expertise in managing complex projects, including interactions with statutory bodies, third-party vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of marine systems and associated regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible given the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
