Free2move is looking for a talented Senior Legal Counsel - Data Privacy & IT Law to join its Legal Team.

This role covers both data protection law and IT law, including contract negotiation for procurement and IT services.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing and continuously improving Free2move's compliance with global data privacy regulations while providing legal expertise on digital law, new technology, and complex IT contracts.

Your next missions:

Data Protection & Privacy Compliance

  • Act as key legal advisor for business teams on EU data protection (GDPR) and global privacy regulations.
  • Oversee and implement data privacy compliance programs, including international data transfer mechanisms (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs .
  • Conduct audits (inc. DPIAS) and data processing mapping to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Draft and implement policies and guidelines (incl. privacy notices, records of processing activities, cross-border adequacy strategy, data retention concept, data breaches procedures).
  • Design and implement data privacy training for employees.
  • Handle inquiries from external clients and sub-contractors, internal key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the IT systems and procedures comply with data privacy regulations and policies.
  • Lead investigations and response efforts for data protection violations, including handling data breaches.
  • Advise on and oversee the lawful execution of Data Subject Rights requests.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel where necessary to address local privacy laws issues.
  • Contribute to the implementation of legal tech solutions to streamline privacy compliance.

IT law and technology contracts

  • Provide legal expertise on technology-related matters, including AI, cybersecurity and digital platforms.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate IT-related contracts, including SaaS, IT outsourcing contracts, and software licensing agreements.
  • Support procurement and IT departments in contract negotiations.
  • Ensure the legal compliance of new digital and technological projects with applicable laws (e.g. e-Privacy, DSA, DMA).

Expected skills:

  • Master's degree in Business Law, Digital Law or Data Protection Law.
  • 8+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal role handling data privacy and IT law matters.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) is a plus.
  • Proven experience negotiating IT contracts.
  • English fluent, as well as native levels skills in French and German.
  • Ability to provide concise, clear and pragmatic legal advice.
  • Be a self-starter with high personal accountability.
  • Team-oriented attitude.
