Global Insurance Company - London - Hybrid working - Senior Legal Counsel

Astral Legal have partnered with a Global Insurer as they are recruiting a Senior Legal Counsel for their team.

The ideal Senior Legal Counsel will be 4-8 years PQE with a solid background working within the Insurance space.

• Advise the business written by Lloyd's Syndicate on all legal matters.
• Advise and support the business on project work and commercial transactions, including providing advice to senior stakeholders and board members as required.
• Offer advice on related matters such as corporate structure, governance, the establishment of new products and services throughout Europe, and providing legal updates to the business.
• Manage external counsel instructions on matters around corporate law, general contract law, tax law, and other legal issues relevant to entering European markets.
• Advise on and co-ordinate provision of advice surrounding (re)insurance law issues, which would include wordings and distribution contracts.
• Provide advice on commercial and corporate contract issues.
• Demonstrate strong drafting and negotiation skills to develop standard form and bespoke documentation and contracts.
• Contracts can range from distribution, SaaS, procurement, to name a few.
• Work with internal teams including Compliance, Risk, Corporate Secretarial, and Data Protection functions, as well as external legal counsel to ensure compliance with local law and regulations.

The ideal Senior Legal Counsel will be around 4-8 years PQE. Candidates from both In-House and Private Practice will be considered.

You must have a strong background within the Insurance sector or have supported Insurance Clients within Private Practice.
