The EMEA & GCG International Business Insights team, part of GMS Marketing International, is responsible for defending our merchant value proposition & driving optimized marketing activities through insights & consultation.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Reporting to the Director of EMEA & Global Client Group (GCG) International Business Insights, this Manager is responsible for developing a pipeline of opportunities through collaboration with GCG Client Management and GCG Marketing, managing the end-to-end sales and project management process to penetrate Business Insights across all top Amex Offer segments, merchants with marketing funds, and key renegotiations.

The incumbent will build and leverage relationships with GCG Clients and key business partners to generate BI leads to ensure we develop data-driven marketing strategies to further grow Amex Offer investments & compelling narratives to defend our premium value proposition.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Responsible for contacting clients with overdue accounts to secure the settlement of the account. Also, they do preventive work to avoid future overdues with accounts that have a high exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Build an active pipeline of opportunities and deliver compelling proposals to drive Amex Offer engagement and Business Insights engagement by utilizing consultative selling to assess needs, while leveraging industry & marketplace expertise.
  • Strategic Consultation: Cultivate senior-level merchant relationships across various functions, being able to advise and deliver actionable insights to secure marketing investments and to support global contract renegotiations.
  • Marketing & Insights: Develop end-to-end data-driven marketing strategies including segmentation, offer constructs, and measurement plans, drive and test new ideas in strong collaboration with GCG Marketing to protect and grow Amex Offers revenue.
  • Data & Insights: Own end-to-end insights project planning, delivery, and measurement. Transform raw data into insights-led commercial presentations to executives at merchant partners & internal stakeholders.
  • Data Product Development: Identification and creation of automated data tools in close collaboration with the Global Merchant Analytics team that enables us to articulate our value proposition.
  • GCG Value Proposition: Develop industry value propositions across Luxury Retail & Travel through custom and scaled Business Insights to defend our premium & drive growth opportunities.
  • Develop industry insights & value propositions for external events across Europe & Asia, and talking points for senior leadership presenting at events including collaborating with Corporate Affairs & Communications and General Counsel Office to obtain approvals timely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong business development experience and/or partner management experience, including a track record of success in building new and nurturing existing relationships with internal and external clients that drive commercial outcomes.
  • Strategic thinker with a consultative sales approach.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Effective quantitative skills that enable the analysis of data sets and generation of actionable recommendations with measurable value.
  • Strong communication skills and executive presence with the ability to probe/diagnose merchant needs and propose real-time customized solutions across all levels of the organization, internally and externally.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs, and to develop and support execution of strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize across a portfolio of clients and projects, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to innovate and openly share insights and new ideas.
  • Advanced degree in statistics, mathematics, operations research, economics, engineering or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in business development or consultancy is a plus.
