This role is based on site in Oxford. You will be the subject matter expert (SME) for specific M&E engineering systems (mechanical, electrical, ventilation & specialist systems), liaising with professional teams and providing specialist engineering expertise via the analysis of the detailed design in conjunction with various stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Contributing within the project team, collaborating and coordinating with colleagues, actively providing guidance and mentoring to others.
  • Analysing, rectifying and managing the completion of the MEP design, using technical expertise and management processes.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with project sub-contractors, sub-subcontractors and suppliers, being accountable for programme, HSW, cost and quality deliverables of their package or system.
  • Establishing and managing the interfaces between packages.
  • Managing and establishing key relationships with project stakeholders such as the client, design and construction teams.
  • Identifying risks and managing the production and implementation of mitigation plans.
  • Providing comprehensive technical expertise of modern methods of construction, developing and supporting learning about digital technologies and prefabrication.
  • Contributing towards the recommendation and implementation of Mace's standards & project strategies.
  • Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You'll need to have:

  • Advanced knowledge of an engineering specialism or bias (i.e. mechanical) including installation techniques, best practice, engineering processes, prefabrication and single system commissioning requirements.
  • Proficient knowledge of other specialisms (i.e. electrical) to ensure collaboration and coordination with other systems and packages.
  • Proficient knowledge of construction build elements, including sequencing and dependencies.
  • Proficient knowledge of commercial management for packages, including procurement processes, change control, and cost to complete.
  • Proficient knowledge of planning processes and management, including key construction release requirements and critical path scheduling.
  • Proficient knowledge of health, safety & welfare core elements to ensure safe management of supply chain packages.
  • Proficient knowledge of quality assurance processes and commissioning of systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of digital engineering technologies or prefabrications (C2P).

You'll also have:

  • The ability to undertake basic design calculations during the analysis of designs.
  • Professional registration with either CIBSE or IET.
  • Understanding of strategic goals and influences across the project and business unit.
  • Analysis of potential risks with an understanding of impact and proactive prevention.
