Our media agency Mediaplus, part of our Brussels-based House of Communication (labeled Great Place to Work) is looking for a Senior Media Planner (Digital) to join its team of around 120 employees and support the agency in serving clients such as: Argenta, ALDI, BMW, Mini, C&A, Decathlon, Abbott, Nikon, and many others.


Key Responsibilities


Media Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive digital media plans aligned with client objectives.
  • Identify and define target audience segments, leveraging data and audience insights to tailor ad placements effectively.
  • Select the appropriate channels to achieve campaign goals.

Media Buying:

  • Plan, negotiate, and purchase digital media placements, including (but not limited to) display advertising, social media ads, video ads, and search engine marketing (SEM).
  • Continuously monitor and optimize media campaigns to ensure maximum performance and ROI.
  • Oversee the execution of the media buying with the activation experts.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media vendors, publishers, and advertising platforms. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and advertising opportunities.

Planning and Execution:

  • Analyze campaign performance data and implement optimization strategies.
  • Conduct analyzes to enhance campaign effectiveness through available tools and creative ways.
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform channel selection and optimize campaign performance.
  • Ensure that all administrative tasks are completed (saving documents on the server, keeping a history available, making quotes, invoicing )
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop compelling ad creatives that resonate with the target audience and align with campaign goals.
  • Analyze campaign performance data, generate insights, and prepare regular reports to share with stakeholders. Use data-driven insights to make informed recommendations for future campaigns.
  • Plan and execute A/B tests and other experiments to optimize ad creatives, targeting, and messaging for better campaign performance.
  • Ensure that all digital media campaigns comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices, including privacy and data protection laws.

Budget Management:

  • Manage budgets for multi-channel campaigns, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.
  • Ensure the respect of budgets throughout the campaigns (planning to invoicing) and the good communication of budget towards the financial controller.

Market Research:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and changes in consumer behaviour related to online media.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market research.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

  • Work closely with account management and creative teams to align offline media strategies with overall marketing objectives.
  • Ensure seamless integration of media plans with creative elements.

Client Interaction:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients regarding offline media strategies.
  • Present strategies, reports, and campaign updates to clients when needed.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Utilize analytics tools to generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) or ensure that junior/executive profiles are following up on reports.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to clients and internal teams.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including creative, account management, and analytics, to align strategies and ensure campaign success.
  • Share your knowledge towards junior members to increase the global expertise of Mediaplus.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture and participate in the development of Mediaplus.
  • Represent Mediaplus at external events.


Requirements and Qualifications


  • At least 8 years of experience as a Digital Media Planner, preferably in the advertising industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital advertising platforms, ad networks, and media buying.
  • Proficiency in media planning and buying tools, as well as data analytics and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of digital advertising trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Certifications in digital advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Blueprint) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in mentoring more junior media planners is a plus.
  • Capacity to work French or Dutch as well as in English and being stationed in Belgium.
