About the Department:
The Planning team is a small, friendly team of data analysts with a passion for driving improvement through data-led decision making. We are responsible for analysis of all aspects of the student journey and submission of student-related external returns including HESES and the HESA Student record. We are committed to helping SOAS achieve its Strategic Plan through the provision of high-quality data and analysis.

About the Role:
We have a great opportunity for an experienced HE professional with a proven track record of delivering high-quality statutory returns to join our team. We are looking for someone who loves data and problem-solving, and has experience driving improvement in a complex and evolving data landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the submission and validation of student-related statutory returns, including HESA Student and HESES, and provide assurance for sign-off.
- Work with colleagues across the institution to embed statutory requirements into core systems and business processes.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to analyse and assess the onwards use of data submitted in statutory returns (e.g. in league tables).
- Be a champion for data quality and data governance.
