Role Description

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will work along with other platform engineers reporting to the Head of Platform Engineering. You will be responsible for working with the product squads to build scalable, resilient, and secure platforms for their software to run on. The goal is to build a core framework which product squads will be leveraging to accelerate product development. Your experience will feed into a wider strategy of supporting the applications for Continuous Integration, Deployment, and Delivery. Allica uses Infrastructure as Code for provisioning our environments for deployments. You will be expected to be hands-on with prior experience in building the core frameworks which product squads will be leveraging for their continuous integration, deployment, and delivery.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Work closely with the product squads to enable them to manage their integration and delivery pipelines.
2. Provision Azure Services using Infrastructure as Code to meet the requirements to deploy the software applications built by the product teams.
3. Contribute to the design, build, and operational management of a highly scalable, secure, and available infrastructure platform.
4. Contribute to the technology roadmap with deliverables focused on the continued improvement of the supported solutions and empowering a DevOps culture.
5. Drive new and existing initiatives effectively following the best industry standards.
6. Recruit, upskill, and mentor the team.

Personal Attributes & Experience

1. Hands-On Experience in designing and provisioning cloud-native services on Azure.
2. Experience building CI/CD pipelines for web, backend, and data teams.
3. Good understanding of Application security - OWASP Top 10, storing credentials, etc.
4. Good understanding of Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
5. Hands-On Experience with technologies like Azure services, Terraform, Azure DevOps, Docker, Helm Charts, Jenkins, etc.
6. Hands-On Experience with Python/Terraform/Bash scripting.
7. Proactive with adopting the best practices and always driving the team towards continuous improvement.
8. Strong experience of networks, firewalls, subnets, VPN, and load balancing.
9. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
